Our First Wedding Photography Experience
Thursday, January 31, 2008 A couple weeks ago, we had the opportunity to assist and second shoot a wedding for the FABULOUS Justine Ungaro. We met her last November at Rob & Jenny's wedding in Puerto Rico. I had actually been following her photography blog for some time before then, so when I saw her at their wedding, I just HAD to approach her and tell her I was a huge fan! :) She was SO nice and patient while Drew and I drilled her with questions about photography and the biz. I love it when other photographers are willing to share their knowledge and wisdom with newbies! We learned a lot from her in those few minutes. Since then we've kept in touch...and she was kind enough to let us tag along with her to a friend's wedding she was photographing in New Jersey. Ashley and Tim are a beautiful couple! It was so great to see how Justine worked with everyone there...she was laid back and fun. We took a lot of mental notes and can't wait to apply some of the things we learned to our own weddings. Check out the GORGEOUS shots she took at the wedding HERE. Justine, you are one of a kind...thank you again for this wonderful experience!!
Here are some of the shots we were able to grab...

Behind-the-scenes shot of Justine hard at work!

And one of the guests offered to turn the camera around on us...here's the shot he grabbed :)

By the way, if any of you photographers are looking to improve your business (or are just starting out), Justine and her mom (Diana Adams of Studio Diana) are holding a 2-day portrait seminar in February. I am scraping my pennies together with the hopes of attending, but I wanted to help spread the word because I think this seminar will be hugely beneficial to both amateur and professional photographers. For more info, you can visit their website at www.themodernportrait.com.

Okay guys, these pictures are SO GOOD. Seriously. Not that I wasn't expecting good from you, but DANG THESE ARE SO GOOD! And you said you didn't get any shots...PAH.
Tell me your secrets.
Also, let me know about the 16th :)
Holy crap - these are fantastic!
Seriously - if these are the kinds of pics you take when you claim to not have had the opportunity to take much, then I say you're upcoming clients are very lucky. Keep up the good work and maybe one day, you'll be teaching seminars!
I saw Justine's seminar when she posted it and proposed to the The Mr and he poo pooed it (its too pricey and we're nowhere near having a 'business').
@Andrea: I think she says that about every shoot!
Maria/Drew, these shots are great, really pretty - and I feel like you got the emotions of the moment, which is my very favorite feeling- I like looking at a photo and almost feeling like I'm in the moment with them.
FA BU.
love!
Guys, these are really fantastic, I'm so impressed! You'd never know that you hadn't been shooting for years. Great job, can't wait to see the rest.:)
Maria, Great pictures! They are awesome!!!!
