The Kelly Family

Melody and I go way back... We were in the same sorority in college, and lived together for 2 years...and then after graduation, we went backpacking through Europe for a month (lots of crazy memories from that trip). She is one of my closest friends and I love her dearly. I was so incredibly happy for her when she told me she was pregnant last year. She ended up giving birth to her beautiful baby girl, Kendall, 2 days before our wedding...so she had a pretty good excuse for not being able to come :)

Here are some shots we took of Melody and her husband, Jared, a couple weeks before Kendall was born...

Fast forward 4 months... Kendall wasn't feeling well, but still managed to squeeze out a couple smiles (and half-smiles) for us. I had to make this next shot a big one because I love it so much :) Look at that face...

Now you can see who she got her gorgeous eyes from...

This next shot was Melody's idea and I love the way it turned out! Baby legs are so freaking cute.

I call this next one "tiny girl on big couch" :) Jared's mom is an artist, and she has so many unique sculptures and paintings in their house. The stick figure on the right was one of my favorites.

And just for fun, here's a picture of Melody and I with our huge backpacks. Hard to believe this was 7 years ago...

(1) You went backpacking through Europe?! Gah! I'm so jealous.
(2) The pregnancy shots are beautiful. Seriously. And it probably helps that your friends are ridiculously attractive. But really - I've seen some awful maternity photos lately (some that make me say, "you paid money for that?!") but these are so pretty.
(3) If I ever get pregnant (and there's a super slim chance of that), I'm hiring YOU!
(4) I don't even like babies but these pictures are amazing too. They feel so intimate.
(5) Is it weird that I think the picture of the baby's butt crack is uber cute? Does that make me creepy?

I agree with (almost) all of the above from Kim! I personally LOVE babies so these pictures make me smile - they are so so beautiful. And I hope I look that pretty when I'm preggers.

Your work makes me want to have you at our wedding!

Kim,
(1) It was crazy. You and J should totally do it!
(2) It's because my friends are ridiculously attractive and easy to photograph :) but thanks!
(3) You're going to make a gorgeous momma someday. Come on, we gotta keep the Eurasian population going!
(4) I love you, thank you :)
(5) Nope, it doesn't make you creepy. The butt crack one is one of my favs!

Katie, thank you so much! I hope I look that pretty preggers, too :)

I swear I already posted a comment, but it's not here. Anyway.... I'm proud to say this is my beautiful baby girl. Maria- You did an amazing job I wish I could hire you to follow us around each day to capture all of her special moments. I can't wait to see where your talent takes you. You'll be doing this full-time before you know it.
