Leigh + Mike are Married!
Ahh...Leigh + Mike...what a lovely and sweet couple they are. Their wedding took place on a beautiful fall day in Old Town Alexandria. The day started at Hotel Monaco, the gorgeous boutique hotel where their reception was going to be held. After everyone was ready, the bridal party and guests walked a few blocks from the hotel to the ceremony location. I loved seeing the reactions on onlookers' faces as Leigh walked along the red brick sidewalks and cobblestone roads decked out in her amazing dress and veil. The ceremony was held at The Athenaeum, which was built over 150 years ago. A bagpiper played outside as the guests arrived...it was wonderful. Mike's Best Man was his father, and Leigh's Maid of Honor was her sister. Their teary-eyed ceremony was officiated by a close friend, which made it even more special. After the ceremony, we had plenty of time to take pictures of the newlyweds in The Athenaeum and along the streets of Old Town. Finally, it was back to the hotel for the PARTY! It was filled with heartfelt speeches, more tears, happiness, and a lot of dancing. Drew and I had a fantastic time, and we were honored to be a part of this incredible day. I have to mention their amazing day of coordinator, the oh-so-fabulous Maria Cooke of Ritzy Bee Events. Maria ensured that everything ran smoothly throughout the day, and she was wonderful to work with! If you haven't already checked out the Ritzy Bee blog for daily wedding inspiration, go there and take a look around. If you're in need of a super-organized wedding planner or day of coordinator, call Maria! She'll take good care of you.
One last thing...you have to check out Leigh's blog at www.leighdameron.com. She's a very talented photographer with a natural eye for composition and form. Her pictures and words are beautiful. I suggest grabbing a cup of coffee or tea before visiting her blog because you may want to stay awhile :)
Now, onto their wedding pictures...

One last cry before the ceremony...

Ok, all better (for now :)

And here's my adorable husband at the end of the night...holding the video light in one hand, his camera in the other hand, and Leigh's veil somehow tucked in the side of his head. He is a master multi-tasker :)

Leigh + Mike - thank you again for having us! Wishing you all the best!

Wonderful picture! Is it an HDR? There's something about the clarity and lines that are so different from most wedding shots. Great picture!
I love the location. I love her dress. And I love how much fun everyone looks like they're having. Seriously - why aren't you doing this full-time?!
You two are incredible photographers and I can't tell you how happy we are to have worked with you -- the photos are perfect and we are so very thrilled. Thank you so much!
Leigh
These are SOOO gorgeous! They really capture the love & emotion between Leigh and Mike that we could all feel for them that day!
ooo, what does the video light do, AND do you use it WITH the other flash?
Beautiful shots!!
Holy crap these are good! The shots with the blue wall are gorrrgeous...
And that is some serious multi-tasking!
These photos are FABULOUS! Each one speaks a thousand words! How beautifully this 'moment in time' was captured! So glad to have been a part of it! xo
Beautiful photos. You both did a wonderful job. Thanks for capturing this special day in such a professional and beautiful way. It was great to spend time with you.
thank you all for your kind comments!! leigh and mike are beautiful people inside and out - they made it easy for us.
john - thanks! that picture of them dancing isn't HDR. i actually just used lightroom - used a cross process preset, upped the clarity slider all the way, and tweaked the shadows & highlights a bit.
smack - we like the video light because it adds more dramatic lighting...drew wasn't using his flash in that pic.
awesome!! best ever - love them all! maria + drew rock the house!! :) :) :)
jaime, haha...thank you so much! :)
