Dharma + Andy | Engaged
Beautiful weather + cupcakes + awesome locations + ice cream + a fabulous couple = happiness
This was the earliest we've ever shot an engagement session. Those who are close to me know that I'm not a morning person, but for some reason, I woke up earlier than Drew (unheard of for me - at 5:30am no less!) to start preparing for Dharma + Andy's session. I was really excited. We met them at this adorable bakery and coffee shop in Alexandria called Buzz. It's so colorful and quirky, and has the most delicious cupcakes and pastries. We had fun eating our breakfast of sweets and taking a few pics. Then we headed to Old Town, where we made them kiss, hug, jump, climb, lay, trespass (well, it wasn't really trespassing because the woman came out of her house to talk to us :), and pretend to ride a chained up bike. They were troopers. Drew and I cannot wait until their wedding this fall! Dharma's really creative and pays a lot of attention to detail, so I know their big day is going to be fantastic.
The graffiti on the wall says "Lucky Charlie likes your face!"
Caught this little girl skipping down the sidewalk...so cute.
They're both avid bike riders, so this Bike and Roll shop was fitting.
And we just had to end the session with more sweets...yum.

There are so many fantastic pictures in this shoot that I can't even pinpoint a favorite!
Bob and I ( Dharma's parents:-) loved the pictures and can not wait to meet you for the big day. It will be so fun having people come together and celebrate Dharma and Andy on their special day and then get to see your wonderful work afterwards. Greetings to you both.
I don't know how you make each new set feel new and unrepetitive. I'm sure you have to use one location more than once, but it never EVER feels like 'yadda yadda we've seen this before" You make every shoot feel special and unique and i'll bet your clients love that about you.

smack - you are too sweet. there have only been a few times where we've had to shoot in the same location (this session was a new location), but when it does happen, it's definitely a challenge (in a good way :) can we go shooting together soon, please?
