Ride Across Maryland

Hundreds of motorcyclists gathered in the Columbia Mall parking lot...they were preparing for their Ride Across Maryland to raise money for the fight against breast cancer. Drew and I were there in support of my friend Heather's dad, Marlon "Darrel" Vaughn, who participated in the ride...and in honor of my best friend Lindsay's mom and a few other friends' moms who have beat the odds and survived breast cancer. It was an amazing and hair-raising experience to watch all of the motorcycles drive off with pink ribbons tied to their handles... They ended up raising $300,000 - the largest gift they've ever received (nearly $1.2 million total in the 7 years this organization has been around!) Incredible :) I can't wait for next year... The Swatland Family
