Noel + David | Engaged

These two are the coolest. They're laid back, easy-going, sweet...we had an awesome time running around DC with them! We met up at Bartholdi Park, but were disappointed to find the fountain under construction. So we just took a handful of shots there, then headed over to the Mall to get some monument shots. Then we ended the session in Chinatown for some urban fun. We had a great time getting to know them both! We couldn't be more excited for their wedding this September at the Hendry House.

Noel + David - thank you so much for a fantastic time! Can't wait to see you again soon!!

Mariel + Chris are Married!

It was a beautiful spring day, which was only fitting for a couple like Mariel + Chris. Their intimate ceremony took place in a quaint, little church that was built over 100 years ago. One of their friends played Beethoven's "Sonata Pathetique" on the piano, another friend sang "Ave Maria", and Chris' cousin performed a Handel aria. It was moving and lovely. After the ceremony, it was off to the country club for the party, which was complete with an awesome live band! The night was filled with wonderful speeches and a TON of dancing. We had a blast documenting this wedding! Mariel + Chris - thank you so much for letting us share in your special day. Wishing you all the best!!

Mariel's sister and Chris' cousin presented a slideshow during the reception. It's always fun to see the bride + groom when they were younger, and hear about their lives and how they met. It was very sweet.

Gotta love the wheelbarrow :)

Lindsay + Jason | Engaged

We were so happy the rain decided to hold off for Lindsay + Jason's engagement session! When we first met them, we instantly knew they were the kind of people we wanted to hang out with. They're fun, and they act so sweet toward each other. Their big day is going to be held at the beautiful Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in September, so we decided to meet there and explore the grounds together. We walked all over, talked about their big day and various adventures (Jason has gone skydiving, which is something I realllly want to do), and fell in love with the place. Lindsay + Jason - thanks for spending your morning with us! :) We had a blast and can't wait to see you again soon!

Things I'm loving this week...

charity: water
charity: water is a non-profit organization that brings clean drinking water to people in developing nations. We were introduced to this amazing cause by Bia + Steve, the wonderful couple we photographed in Philly (you'll be seeing more of them very soon!). Check out charity: water's website HERE and find out how you can help!

Pirate's Booty, Pom Pomegranate Lychee Green Tea, 100 Calorie Milk Chocolate Covered Pretzels
I can't live without my snacks. They help me work better and more efficiently ;) The 3 below are my current favorites. YUM.

The Big Picture
The Big Picture is an incredible photo blog by the Boston Globe that focuses on current events and more. The images are moving and powerful. See them for yourself HERE.

Envirosax Reusable Shopping Bags
I really want these super cute, eco-friendly shopping bags. Now I just need to figure out which design and styles to choose!

Bon Iver's For Emma, Forever Ago, Ra Ra Riot's The Rhumb Line, and Thievery Corporation
I have to have music on at all times. It gets me through the day. I've had Bon Iver and Ra Ra Riot's latest albums on repeat in my iTunes. My new favorite songs: Skinny Love and Can You Tell. And of course, all of the Thievery Corporation albums are on rotation...they're my favorite.

Something I'm NOT loving right now...flying stand-by. I was supposed to meet the hubby down in Austin this past weekend (he's there for work), but the flights were too full and I would've had to wait in Newark airport for 6 hrs. So yeah, I'm bummed and I miss him. Thankfully, he's coming home tomorrow and I don't have to whine anymore :)

Hope everyone's having a great week!

Annie + Brad | Engaged

We had a fantastic and adventurous day exploring Roosevelt Island with Annie + Brad! Drew and I had no idea this place even existed (thanks A + B for suggesting it!). Brad likes to run the trails here, so he showed us around the area. The leaves were green and everything was so lush and gorgeous. We shot away as Annie + Brad snuggled, dipped, climbed rocks, and hiked through patches of unknown foliage...they even climbed a dead tree that had landed in the Potomac River. Unfortunately, Drew wasn't his usual graceful self, and he slipped on the rocks and landed on his back trying to get a good shot. Fortunately, he was fine and he protected both of the cameras from the fall - that's my man! After our wilderness adventure, we went into DC for some nighttime shots in front of the Jefferson Memorial. It was a perfect ending to the day. CLICK HERE to view their slideshow!

Annie + Brad - we had so much fun hanging out with you both! Can't wait for September! :)

Go Hokies! :)

Cindy + Mike | Engaged

Big, warm, genuine smiles are the best...those are the kinds Cindy + Mike have on their faces almost all the time. These two are so sweet and fun! Food is what initially brought them together. They met while working in a restaurant, and the rest is history. They're going to make their love official this Saturday, and we're so honored to document the celebration!

Cindy and I actually go way back. We grew up in the same neighborhood, went to the same schools, she used to babysit our good friend Factor (awww), her mom tutored my sister in math, she worked with my godsister, the list goes on and on. I know this wedding is going to be fantastic and one huge dance party. As an added bonus - it's taking place on a boat in Baltimore! We can't wait for our first wedding on water (my Dramamine's already packed! :)

To stay with the Baltimore theme, we met Cindy + Mike in Fells Point for their engagement session. We had so much fun running around and exploring - we even got hungry and took a little pizza break. View their slideshow HERE!
