Polar Bear Plunge

If any of you are in the area on January 26th and have nothing to do, come out to the MSP Polar Bear Plunge at Sandy Point State Park!  It's a HUGE event where hundreds of people jump into the freezing Chesapeake Bay to raise money for Special Olympics.  Drew, Lindsay, Heather, Anne, my brother-in-law Bill (B, you have to register!), and I are going to be participating.  Yes, we are crazy...but it's going to be a ridiculously fun time and it's all for a good cause (yay, Vinnie!)  Just check out the pictures from previous plunges in their slideshows and you'll see for yourself.  It's free for spectators. There's going to be a big winter festival in a heated tent with live music, food & drinks, stuff for kids, sand sculptures, and even pig racing(!)...where else can you cheer on a porker in the middle of winter?  If you're feeling a little crazy yourself and want to join our team, PLEASE DO!!  We need 4 more people!  And if you feel like making a small donation, you can visit our page - Team Holy Shivers!! Best Buds

Bernie sent us this HILARIOUS picture of him and Drew from wayyyyy back in the day...



I don't even know how many years they've been best friends exactly (I think it's 22?), but I do know that he has always supported Drew in every aspect of his life (and vice versa). Their friendship is really amazing. They text each other at least 2-3 times a day, hehe. Here they are at our wedding...Bernie was, of course, the Best Man. And he did a fantastic job with the speech :)



Ha! I just noticed that Bernie is pointing in both pictures. Some things never change...

Buddy Walk 2007

Thank you so much to everyone who supported Team Vinnie at this year's Buddy Walk!! We were able to raise over $3,300 to contribute to the National Down Syndrome Society and the Down Syndrome Network of Montgomery County. We're amazed and humbled by the kindness and generosity of others. We hope that with everyone's support, we can continue to raise awareness about Down Syndrome and help promote the importance of acceptance and inclusion. oFp. Guestbook

We've been meaning to take pictures of the guestbook we used at our wedding, but haven't gotten around to it...no surprise there. Well, I just checked out my friend Lauren's blog and she already took care of it! Lauren Chapman and her hubby, Robbie, are openField photography. They are AH-MAZING photographers. Lauren took our engagement pictures (which she totally rocked out!!). She and Robbie then designed our guestbook, which we were so excited about. When we received the package from them and saw the book for the first time, we were floored...they did such a fantastic job. And as expected, it was a huge hit with our guests!
