Teresa + Cap | Save the Date

Teresa + Cap are so cute. We did a mini photo session with them for their Save the Date cards on the Mall in DC. They brought along their adorable dog Sadie, a perfectly painted sign (Teresa's a teacher and very crafty!), and a delicious bottle of wine for us :) The crowds were out, but we were still able to get some fun shots! Here's one of our favorites:

Can't wait for October, guys!

Jean + Justin are Married!

Jean + Justin's wedding was a beautiful, love-filled day at Woodend Sanctuary. Rain forced their ceremony indoors, but you would never have known there was a last-minute change of plans...they were both calm, happy, and excited to see each other. Their ceremony was emotional and wonderful, followed by heartfelt speeches at dinner. And the rest of the night was filled with high energy and AMAZING dance moves - we're talkin' skanking, conga lines, kick lines, air guitar, the running man...you name it, they danced it! We had so much fun documenting everything. CLICK HERE to watch their slideshow!

A special thank you to Jaime Windon for sending Jean + Justin our way. We also want to thank Leigh Dameron (you may remember her wedding from last fall) for coming along to second shoot - you rock, Leigh!

Jean + Justin - wishing you both all the happiness in the world!! Thank you again for having us! :)

Bahamian Love

My sister, Nicole, with her new hubby, Bob :)

Whew! We are finally back from a whirlwind of traveling, happiness, and family fun. Our adventure began in Philly last Saturday, where we spent some quality time with good friends and shot Bia + Steve's (love them!) engagement session. Then we jetted off to the Bahamas the following morning for a week-long, amazing celebration for my sister's wedding. It was the first time that my whole family had ever traveled together, and we had a blast - it was an awesome vacation. Now it's back to reality and time to get caught up with work and emails! We also have an ENORMOUS amount of pictures to blog, so get ready :) The fun starts tomorrow with Jean + Justin's wedding!

A Day with Andrea Jae Photography

Andrea + Renata make up Andrea Jae Photography. These two ladies always make me smile. To say I love hanging out with them is an understatement. They're both incredible souls...always filled with positive energy...and they're both crazy talented behind the lens. If you haven't already, check out their blog here! Drew and I hung out with them in Georgetown for a session swap a few weeks ago. It was so much fun to walk around the city with other photogs who have the same vision and thoughts..."look at this dirty, grimy alley - it's perfect!" All four of us were nervous to be in front of each others' cameras, but these girls worked it out! They brought the fierce, the silly, the laughter, the sass... We had a blast. We talked shop and took pictures for hours. It was a perfect day. Andrea + Renata - we can't wait for the next outing! Love!

I love their faces in this one :)

We heart our Moms

I know we have a lot to post, but we wanted to give our moms a special shout-out first. We feel so blessed that we live close to them and that they're friends with each other. Moms - we love you both very much! :)

The pic above was taken last weekend...at our NEW HOUSE! Yes, that's right. After 13 months of searching, waiting, and putting our real estate agent and loan officer through numerous offers, we finally have keys in our hands. And it feels so good! We truly believe that all of the stress and rejection happened for a reason, and we ended up with the perfect house for us. So if any of you are searching for a home and feeling discouraged, just know there's light at the end of the tunnel!

We haven't moved in yet, but we had the family over for Mother's Day so everyone could check it out. We sat on lawn chairs in the living room, ordered Five Guys, and the kids had a blast running through the empty rooms and playing on the jungle gym. It was a great day.

Here's our tiny abode :)

Of course none of this would have been possible without the tremendous help of our real estate agent, Kathy Morgan, and our loan officer, Ramez Fahmy (the brother of one of my closest friends, Randa). They both worked their tails off and had amazing patience (being first time homebuyers, we had A LOT of questions for them). We couldn't have asked for a better team of professionals to work with. If you're in the market to buy or sell in the MD/DC Metro area, I highly recommend giving Kathy and Ramez a call. You won't regret it.

On a side note - our wonderful friend and former bride, Leigh, came along with us last weekend to help shoot Lanie + Scott's wedding. She is so talented and we have so much fun every time we hang out. She just started a beautiful new blog called "The Photo Project" - it's very inspiring. Check it out here! She sent me the "in action" shots below from last weekend's wedding, and I love them! The shot on the left cracks me up because of Drew's face. He calls it his "dorkoid" smile. Man, I love him. Thanks again, Leigh! :)

One last thing, you must check out these awesome pictures that our friends Andrea + Renata took of us. We did a session swap with them a few weeks ago in Georgetown, and it was ridiculously fun. We'll be posting their pics in the next day or two, so check back soon!

Lanie + Scott | Engaged

Lanie + Scott rank high on the awesomeness scale. They're getting married at Lanie's father's beautiful home this Saturday, and we couldn't be more excited! For this session, they were such troopers as we walked them all over the property in the high winds and told them to "get yummy" and make out :) They were naturals and made it easy for us. We had a blast! Check out their slideshow HERE. Lanie + Scott - we'll see you both soon!
