The Morgan Family

Oh, how we love the Morgan family. Kathy is our wonderful realtor. For the past several months, she has been so helpful, responsive, and patient as Drew and I continue to search for the perfect home. I encourage anyone who is interested in buying or selling a home in MD to contact Kathy ASAP - you will not regret it. She mentioned during one of our meetings that she wanted some family pictures, so of course, we jumped at the chance to capture them. She and her husband, Doug, have two beautiful girls, Olivia and Brooke. The weather was perfect, they were all so easy to photograph, and we had fun getting to know the whole family - we couldn't have asked for a better day!

The Taylor Family

I'm ALMOST done with our blog backlog - just a few more posts and then we'll be all caught up! In July, we photographed our good friends Kristi and Craig and their adorable little boy, Cameron. Kristi was pregnant with her second baby, Dylan, at the time of our session - he's now a beautiful, healthy 2 month old boy. I'm sure he'll have his own blog entry on here sometime soon! It's always fun photographing friends - it never feels like work. Kristi and I have been friends for over 10 years. We were in the same sorority, and we also danced together on the Towson Dance Team. She's now a baton twirling coach and choreographer, and also teaches ballroom dance at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Columbia. She's an amazing dancer and teacher, so if you're in need of lessons, let me know and I'll give you her contact info! Kristi, Craig, Cam, and Dylan - we love you guys!

This last shot is my favorite. It's a little different from our norm, but it makes me happy.

The Owens Family

The Owens family rocks. Rusty, Heather, Trent, Graham, and their precious dog, Freddie, were so much fun. Heather is a fabulous local photographer - check out her blog here! We met her through a mutual friend, Jen (another photographer I love). Their beloved Freddie hasn't been feeling well these days, so they wanted to get some shots of the whole fam together. Freddie was such a good doggie for the session! And Heather came prepared with props and a change of clothes for the boys, which made it even more awesome. Thanks for the fun, guys! Give our love to Freddie!

They brought these gigantic lollipops for the boys. I was in love with their colors.

And yes, the boys busted out their Guitar Hero gear and rocked it out :)

The Graham Family

Back in July, we photographed the sweet and wonderful Graham family in Baltimore. Kristen and Mike's little man, Griffin, is a year old and so ridiculously cute. We started out taking shots at their house. Then we went to Fort McHenry and had a great time walking around. There was a nice open field, and Griffin just loved running around barefoot in the grass and exploring - we had fun trying to keep up with him :)

** Side note to photographers: you need a permit to take pictures at Fort McHenry! We didn't find out until a security guard chased after Drew, laid down the rules, and told him to leave...oops! Thank goodness we were at the end of our session :)

The Palarea Family

Meet Juliette, Rich, Alison, Ella, and Bryce. This family was one of our first official clients back in '06, so we have a special place for them in our hearts. We met Juliette through my good friend, Erin (who was one of the main people that pushed us to start this business - love ya, Er!) It was so awesome to see how the kids have grown - if you've been to our website, you've probably seen their faces all over our galleries. We were lucky to have Kim and Jeremy, our friends and famous Trash the Dress couple, come along and second shoot for a bit. And as expected, we had a blast!

These next awesome shots were taken by Kim and Jeremy. Yep, the kids were playing with our camera, which made me a little nervous at first...but they handled it with such care and acted like pros! Looks like Juliette is going to have to buy them their own DSLRs soon :)

Ella has already perfected the photographer squat!

And here are two K+J behind-the-scenes shots of the yellow/white paparazzi. (Kim - please don't kill me for posting this one of you. I think you look so cute, and I had to show that you were there :)

BTW - Kim is planning to debut a fun new blog in the next coming months called "Charm City Kim", so look out for that launch date on her current blog!

The Foreman Family, pt. 2

I'm about to do some MAJOR blog post catch-up... To kick things off, you may remember the gorgeous Foreman kids from this post. They wanted to get more shots of the entire family together for their grandparents' anniversary this year. So we met them at Loch Raven Reservoir in Towson on a very hot and sticky day and knocked out a few shots. We loved how color coordinated they were!

Old McDonald Had a Farm

When you can't make it to the zoo, bring it to you... My sister and her husband had a petting zoo come over for Anthony & Vinnie's birthday party last month, and the kids (& adults) LOVED IT. It was chilly and the skies were gray, but a bunch of people still came out to enjoy the animals and cupcakes. There were roosters, bunnies, ducks, sheep, a goat, a miniature pony, an alpaca... it. was. awesome.

The Burcham Family

P0007_03.jpg

We were so honored when our friend, Andrea, asked us to photograph her family last month. Since she's a fellow photographer, I was SUPER nervous about getting everything right. But I quickly forgot about that during the drive to her parents' house when it started raining really hard. So hard, we even had to pull over at one point! There was no turning back, though, because one of her sisters was moving to Texas that following weekend and this was the last chance to get some shots of the whole family. When we arrived, I instantly knew I would love them. Their house was filled with laughter and good smelling food - it reminded me of being home at my mom's house :) Since the rain was still coming down, we started out on their front porch for a few shots...then ventured out to the driveway and yard in between drizzles...and at the very end of the session, the sun decided to peek out and give us some love. It was a great ending to the day. Andrea, spending time with your family was wonderful...thank you for letting us document your life together!

The Kelly Family

Melody and I go way back... We were in the same sorority in college, and lived together for 2 years...and then after graduation, we went backpacking through Europe for a month (lots of crazy memories from that trip). She is one of my closest friends and I love her dearly. I was so incredibly happy for her when she told me she was pregnant last year. She ended up giving birth to her beautiful baby girl, Kendall, 2 days before our wedding...so she had a pretty good excuse for not being able to come :)

Here are some shots we took of Melody and her husband, Jared, a couple weeks before Kendall was born...

Fast forward 4 months... Kendall wasn't feeling well, but still managed to squeeze out a couple smiles (and half-smiles) for us. I had to make this next shot a big one because I love it so much :) Look at that face...

This next shot was Melody's idea and I love the way it turned out! Baby legs are so freaking cute.

I call this next one "tiny girl on big couch" :) Jared's mom is an artist, and she has so many unique sculptures and paintings in their house. The stick figure on the right was one of my favorites.

And just for fun, here's a picture of Melody and I with our huge backpacks. Hard to believe this was 7 years ago...
