A Day with the Kellys

We visited Melody, Kendall, and Jared last Saturday and had the best time. I love these guys so much.

Their mother/daughter bond is amazing...

Kim & Jeremy - Trash the Dress!

We. love. Kim and Jeremy. We met them through our friend Rob, and we can't get enough of them. You may remember our Stunt Doubles post from last November where I listed the things we have in common with them (everything's still the same - except we no longer shoot Nikon!) Kim and I had been corresponding about doing a Trash the Dress session for awhile, so I was happy that we finally decided on a date and could start scouting locations. Thankfully, they live in Baltimore, so there's character everywhere you look...it provided the perfect backdrop.

Kim looked elegant and gorgeous in her wedding dress, and Jeremy looked dapper and hip in his suit and Vans. We started out at their fabulous row home and took some shots in the backyard with their cute doggies, Emily and Petie. Then we headed down the block for some more awesome locations, which included a barbed wire fence and train tracks (we had to climb up some huge steps to get there - I don't like heights, but it was so worth the shakiness I endured :) It started to rain when we were up there, so we jumped in the car and headed to Hampden. Luckily the rain stopped and we were able to get some hilarious shots of them jumping in front of a recreation center mural. Then we decided to hit up the Honfest, which was SO FUN! Kim & Jeremy were showered with attention from all the festival go-ers...we got shots of them with a bunch of Hons and then ducked into an alley for some sweet shots of just the two of them. To end the day, we drove to Mount Vernon and they jumped in one of the fountains. It was pretty much a perfect day. They were open to all of our crazy ideas and we never heard one complaint from them! What I love about all of this is Kim plans on donating her dress, which is such a great thing to do. I encourage all brides to have some fun in their dress after the wedding and then give it to charity. She has inspired me to do the same (as soon as I can get back in shape to fit into my dress!)

I'm also addicted to Kim's blog, My So-Called Wedded Life. She's an amazing writer and always has entertaining stories. You must check it out. She and Jeremy are also going to start a photo blog soon, so watch out for that! They're both VERY talented behind the lens and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for them and their photography. Bookmark her now!

Erin & Taylor are Married!

Erin & Taylor (you may remember them from this post) are fun and down-to-earth, and they happen to ooze style from every pore. Erin wore a gorgeous black & white dress complete with black fur-covered heels...while Taylor rocked a black on black pin-stripe suit with a white tie. They got married at the beautiful Ceresville Mansion in Frederick. I was so excited to hang out with Michelle and Andrea again (I love these two!) to help shoot the girls getting ready and the ceremony. As always, we had a great time! Thanks again for having me along, Michelle!

They decided to do "First Glance". For those of you who don't know, this is when the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony. It was so cute to see her nervously walk up behind him and tap him on the shoulder. The looks on their faces were priceless...it was a very sweet moment.

Even though Taylor had already seen Erin, he still cried when he saw her walking down the aisle. So of course I started tearing up, too, and could barely keep the camera steady.

Birthdays and Bellies

I spent last Sunday afternoon relaxing on the deck of Erin's gorgeous new house and catching up with the girls. We had a feast of sushi, eggplant dip, juicy watermelon, and birthday cupcakes. We also discussed NKOTB's comeback and decided that we want to go see them, so Erin scored us tickets for October! Yep, we're crazy...but I cannot wait to re-live my 6th grade obsession for a night.

Here are two pretty pregnant girls in pink. Amy (in the light pink) gave birth to Abigail on Monday! And Kristi's due in August!

Some people are born with all the luck in the world (hi Factor), and some people just aren’t (yours truly). Well, my sister entered my name into a raffle at my nephew's school fair and…drum roll please…I won! We think it's because she used my new last name :) They called to tell me it was a travel basket, so I was expecting a little straw bowl with mini shampoos and tiny bars of soap, but no...it was much much more. My sister was kind enough to pick it up at the school for me, lug it home, and send me pictures. A cute baby even came with it! I'm such a lucky girl. Now I need to plan a trip somewhere...

Update – I bought a lotto ticket today and lost. It’s nice to know things are back to normal.

Tottie & Dan are Married!

Where do we begin with this awesome celebration... Tottie and Dan are such an amazing and fun couple. We feel blessed to know them and were so excited to be a part of their day! Their wedding was beautiful! The ceremony and reception were held at the Holiday Inn in Columbia. It had rained the night before and the morning of, but a couple hours before their ceremony, the sun broke through the clouds to shine on their day. I stayed with the girls, while Drew hung out with the guys. It was so much fun taking the getting ready pictures, watching Tottie and the girls laugh while getting dolled-up. I've known most of them since high school (hi Heather, Linz, Jen & Colleen!) It was a wonderful day. And our friend and fabulous photographer, Andrea Ackermann, joined us later in the afternoon to second shoot and help out (thanks so much for everything, A!)

We had a hard time narrowing down our favorites for the blog, but here they are. We'll be posting their slideshow in a couple days, so stay tuned!

My multitasking BFF, Lindsay, was a bridesmaid and also officiated the ceremony. She's become a real pro! I now pronounce you Mr. & Mrs. Daniel Mummert!

The DJ played "Jump in the Line" by Harry Belafonte and a conga line instantly ensued. Most of you are probably familiar with this song from the movie Beetlejuice...so much fun. Shake, shake, shake, senora!
